Sally Hansen Hard as Nails - "Hard Lemonade"

Hi guys!
I'm doing another review/swatcheroo thing for Sally Hansen's "Hard Lemonade". I snagged him for $1.99 at Walgreens, which is the standard price for these .45 fl oz bottles. I was on the hunt for a really opaque yellow shade, so I opted for this polish. I was considering Revlon's "Sunshine Sparkle" nail polish, but I was afraid it wouldn't give me an opaque, strong finish.

In the bottle, it looks almost metallic. When looked at closely, it flashes this goldish metallic which looks like it would be pretty intriguing to try out. Unfortunately, that almost-satin finish is not transferred when applied to the nails. After 2 coats, it has a matte finish with little shine. If you want a strong matte finish yellow, I would try this out. Don't let the bottle deceive you! ;D

A closer look at the difference between the bottle and the nails (2 coats)

This formula isn't the easiest to work with. It took me two coats to get an even, opaque color that I was satisfied with. The first coat is streaky and just looks bad. That's the only thing I can say to describe it, haha! You need two coats to make this polish work.

Two coats applied, in direct sunlight

I especially love how this polish looks in direct sunlight. It becomes a truly sunshine-y, cool yellow. Indoors, it looks more neon. It's hard to explain, sorry that description was so lame it needs an award.

Two coats applied, indoors

Sorry, the photo above is kinda blurry. You can see how the difference between the colors (hopefully)
Another thing to mention is that this doesn't wear good on its own. After a couple days, it starts to chip away and the little bubbles start to form where the texture didn't conform to my nails.

Overall Rating: 3 / 5 stars

Bic Soleil Savvy Razor review (Sent for review consideration purposes courtesy of bzzagent.com)

This is a short review for the Bic Soleil Savvy razor that comes with four replaceable heads. I was sent this razor for review purposes through the website bzzagent.com. Anyone can sign up and be qualified to receive products in exchange for a review! I am not being paid to make this review, and all opinions are honest and genuine.

First off, I love the maneuverability this razor offers. It's very easy to use, has a good grip, and doesn't slip out of your hands when shaving. It also offers a close shave which anyone can appreciate! I also like the moisturizing strips that the razor has, which makes it much less likely that you'll get nicked. In fact, I've used this razor for about a week and haven't got a nick once! (Knock on wood!)

Overall, I definitely recommend this razor.

Maybelline Color Sensational "Afternoon Tea"

Hey everyone :) Yesterday I was at Walgreens and as always had to take a look in the clearance department, which in my store is not clearly marked but it has its own designated area around the women's hygiene and cosmetic products. If you haven't noticed an area in your Walgreens for discounted products, I would take a closer look around and I think you'll find it!

I found this gem, a Color Sensational lipstick in the shade Afternoon Tea. Once I saw it, I was intrigued because the color featured on the packaging looked like a wearable mauve shade with hints of rose. It was only $3.24, which I'm guessing is about half off of the original price. (Score!)

The outside packaging/cover of the lipstick is very similar to the Revlon lipsticks/Lip Butters, as the outside case covers the enter lipstick bullet except for the very bottom, which has a square stand. I enjoy the packaging because it's very practical but I still think it looks glamorous in its own peculiar way. :)

The outside casing which features the shade is also rubberized, and feels very luxurious. I feel that I own a NARS product now - very snazzy indeed.

#870, Afternoon Tea

If I had to describe this color in the simplest of terms, I would say that it's my lip color but better. It's super creamy and goes on very smoothly without patching in different areas or anything. If I could describe the texture and pigmentation of this shade, it is very comparable to a MAC amplified lipstick formula, except you don't have to deal with a extremely dry or thick formula that you often see in an amplified MAC lipstick. The pigmentation of a MAC lipstick is definitely there in Afternoon Tea, and I feel that I saved a lot of money getting this lipstick, as it's very comparable in quality!

Afternoon Tea swatched 2x

A slightly awkward shot of me wearing Afternoon Tea! No other product used, applied quite heavily

When applied, it has some noticeable shine which means that you should not except a matte finish with this lipstick! However, the shine fades quite quickly, but even then I wouldn't consider it a matte finish. Afternoon Tea's wear time overall isn't fantastic, but I love it all the same for its great color payoff!

OPI Dim Sum Plum

One coat applied; direct sunlight

Hey, everyone! Today I'm doing a NOTD for OPI's Dim Sum Plum. I have the mini bottle size, which is an 1/8th of an ounce, along with three other polishes in a little "spring time" set. Unfortunately, I have searched on OPI's website and several other blogs to find a collection from this years or last years spring time releases, and I can't find any collection that includes this polish.

Please take notice that all of the photos shown here were taken outside, which means that the color featured both inside the bottle and applied to my nails are brighter and more vibrant. When looking at the bottle and my nails inside away from sunlight, the color is a shade darker. I recommend looking at the color in person before buying - I don't want these photos to be misleading! ;P

One coat applied; direct sunlight

I am very impressed with the opaque qualities that this polish offers. In these photos I'm only wearing one coat, but I consider the color very opaque! I must add - the next day I applied one more coat over it to test its color, and the color seems to have taken on a new form. Now, it's much deeper and better resembles the true color featured in the bottle.

Two coats applied; without direct sunlight

Above is a photo with little light/exposure when two coats are applied. When inside, this is a more accurate representation of what the color will look like on your nails (and more specifically when two coats are applied).

Unfortunately, in my opinion many OPI polishes do not perform well without a top coat. This particular polish is no exception. After only one day without a top coat, it chipped pretty badly. For that reason alone, I'm glad that this is only a mini bottle - because the full size for $8.00 just isn't worth it to me! From now on, I'll be happy to only buy the mini sets of OPI nail polishes.

And as an extra little bonus - here's my little kitty. Thanks for reading!
