Exciting news

I won my first giveaway!
The host of the giveaway was the beautiful kikiidabest, who you can visit at: www.youtube.com/kikiidabest
I won my very own Sigma kabuki brush! It's in their new line of mini brushes with the names of old Hollywood stars that have left us. Mine says "Miss Taylor" (aka Elizabeth Taylor) and is a metal retractable that is purple!

Hollywood Glamour Flat Top Retractable Kabuki

I am so grateful! It is sooo so soft, I could sit there and feel it forever! lol. Thanks so much again, I'm amazed!

& in other news, I just found out that I got the job that I interviewed for last week! It's an apprentice job for a small company that does prints for art and custom framing. I am so excited - I start today in a little bit. I feel like things are really going my way, finally, and I'm so excited for the future.

I also started going on Beautylish.com, a cool website to find new people on YouTube who do beauty videos.
Visit my profile here and friend me! :) : www.beautylish.com/healthywithwhitney

Thanks to everyone who has kept up to date on my youtube channel as well. I know there's not many out there, but I'm grateful for every view I get. :)

My version of the perfect face scrub

Yes, I am talking about my favorite homemade face and lip scrub that I make often and use weekly. (Keep in mind that face scrubs should not be used in excess, especially it you already have medium to extra dry skin like myself. A face scrub should typically only be used 1 or 2 times a week in my opinion).

We all know all of the great at-home products that you can use as a face scrub. The most common is mixing equal parts of sugar and olive oil. I do use these two products, but I also add my own spin to it.

What you'll need:

- Of course, like I said before, equal parts of sugar and olive oil. If I'm making a couple weeks supply, I would use 1 Tbsp. sugar and 1 Tbsp. olive oil (I use Extra Virgin).

- About half a Tbsp of honey. If you have access to it, try to use organic. We all know that it's expensive, but it's also the best for your skin. The reason I use honey is beause of its skin-brightening properties. I stole this idea from the fabulous Michelle Phan, so I take no credit for it!

- Aloe Vera gel. Any variety will do. Make sure that it's not a product that is half aloe/half some other crap. As long as it's at least 97% pure Aloe Vera, I think you'll be fine. The reason I use aloe is because it moisturizes your skin and aloe has been known for its great uses for your skin (like when you apply it when you get burned!). Aloe Vera also cools your skin and creates an almost tingly and refreshing feeling

- Vitamin E gel caps. You can find these anywhere, and they're reasonably priced. The reason they need to be in gel form is so you can break open the capsule and drop the liquid into your concoction.

I find the easiest way to do this is to cut the very tip of the gel cap and spill the product right into my mixture. I will normally add 2-3 gel caps per concotion. Don't over-do it though, because even though it is a vitamin, you can still over-do it! I wouldn't exceed 3 gel caps per mixture.

It sounds like a lot of products, but I like to have fun with it!

Remember that Extra Virgin olive oil won't clog your pores, and even though it seems weird to add sugar and honey to your face, remember that they are natural ingredients. And if you want to add some precautions, stick with organic products!

You can trust me that I've used this mixture and all of these products on my face and have obtained fantastic results, including a fresh, bright-looking complexion and smooth skin.

Tell me what you think!

Left for Desert Rocks Festival in Moab, UT Thursday evening and arrived back home in SLC on Sunday evening.

Everytime I have the experience of having Evan all to myself in a strange place that is new to us is amazing and exhilarating. I just want to bask in every second of his glory, stare into his beautiful eyes, and get lost. I never knew that having such a person in my life would be such an amazing experience.......I suck at words tonight
