One coat applied; direct sunlight
Hey, everyone! Today I'm doing a NOTD for OPI's Dim Sum Plum. I have the mini bottle size, which is an 1/8th of an ounce, along with three other polishes in a little "spring time" set. Unfortunately, I have searched on OPI's website and several other blogs to find a collection from this years or last years spring time releases, and I can't find any collection that includes this polish.
Please take notice that all of the photos shown here were taken outside, which means that the color featured both inside the bottle and applied to my nails are brighter and more vibrant. When looking at the bottle and my nails inside away from sunlight, the color is a shade darker. I recommend looking at the color in person before buying - I don't want these photos to be misleading! ;P
One coat applied; direct sunlight
I am very impressed with the opaque qualities that this polish offers. In these photos I'm only wearing one coat, but I consider the color very opaque! I must add - the next day I applied one more coat over it to test its color, and the color seems to have taken on a new form. Now, it's much deeper and better resembles the true color featured in the bottle.
Two coats applied; without direct sunlight
Above is a photo with little light/exposure when two coats are applied. When inside, this is a more accurate representation of what the color will look like on your nails (and more specifically when two coats are applied).
Unfortunately, in my opinion many OPI polishes do not perform well without a top coat. This particular polish is no exception. After only one day without a top coat, it chipped pretty badly. For that reason alone, I'm glad that this is only a mini bottle - because the full size for $8.00 just isn't worth it to me! From now on, I'll be happy to only buy the mini sets of OPI nail polishes.
And as an extra little bonus - here's my little kitty. Thanks for reading!
